Overview
Billing roles define the hourly rates used when your team logs time. Each role has a name (e.g. Partner, Senior Accountant) and an hourly rate in pounds. When a team member with an assigned billing role records time, the charge is calculated automatically.
Creating a Billing Role
- 1Open Settings → Roles & Rates
- 2Click Add Role
- 3Enter a Role Name (e.g. Senior Accountant)
- 4Enter the Hourly Rate in pounds
- 5Click Create Role
Editing or Deleting a Role
Click the actions menu on any role row to Edit the name and rate, Assign to Member, or Delete the role. Deleting a role requires confirmation and cannot be undone.
Assigning a Role to a Member
You can assign billing roles in two ways:
- From this page: click the actions menu on a role and choose Assign to Member, then search for and select the team member.
- From the Members page: open a member's actions menu and choose a billing role under Billing Role.
The Members column in the table shows avatar icons for everyone currently assigned to each role.
Only users with the Owner or Admin role can create, edit, or delete billing roles.
