Overview
The Messages page lets you communicate directly with your accountant through a conversation thread. You can read messages, send replies, and keep a record of all your correspondence in one place.
Opening Your Messages
- 1From the portal navigation, click Messages
- 2Your conversation thread opens automatically
If there are no conversations yet, you will see "No conversations yet" in the message area.
Reading Messages
Messages appear in a conversation thread with each message showing:
- The sender's name
- The date and time
- The message content
Your own messages appear on one side and messages from your accountant appear on the other, making it easy to follow the conversation.
Messages are automatically marked as read when you open the conversation. Your accountant can see when you have read their messages.
Sending a Message
- 1Type your message in the compose bar at the bottom of the conversation
- 2Press Ctrl+Enter (or Cmd+Enter on Mac), or click the send button to send your message
Your message appears in the thread straight away and your accountant will be notified.
Multiple Conversations
If you have more than one conversation — for example, a general conversation and a direct message — a list of conversations appears on the left side of the page. Click a conversation to switch between them. Each conversation shows:
- The conversation name or contact name
- A preview of the last message
- An unread count badge if there are new messages
