Overview
The home page is the first screen you see after signing in. It combines financial KPIs, charts, alerts, and personal productivity cards into a single view that updates in real time as your team works.
KPI Cards
Five cards run across the top of the page, each showing a currency or count value:
- Revenue This Month — total invoiced amount for the current month
- Collected — total payments received
- Credit Notes — total value of credit notes issued
- Outstanding — unpaid invoice balance, highlighted in amber
- Overdue Invoices — number of invoices past their due date, highlighted in red
Comparison Periods
A dropdown to the right of the KPI row lets you compare each metric against a previous period. The available options are:
- vs previous month
- vs previous quarter
- vs same month last year
- No comparison
When a comparison period is selected, each card shows the percentage change. Green indicates an improvement; red indicates a decline. Metrics where an increase is undesirable (such as Outstanding or Overdue Invoices) invert the colour logic so that a rise appears in red.
Charts
Three charts sit below the KPI cards.
Revenue Over Time
A bar chart comparing Invoiced and Paid revenue month by month. Use the 3m, 6m, or 12m toggle in the top-right corner of the card to change the time range. Hover over a bar to see exact figures in a tooltip.
Outstanding Aging
A horizontal bar chart that groups unpaid invoices into five buckets: Current, 1-30 days, 31-60 days, 61-90 days, and 90+ days. Each bucket is colour-coded, and the tooltip shows both the total amount and the number of invoices in that bucket.
Time Utilisation
A bar chart showing billable hours logged per week for the last four weeks. Each bar is labelled with the week commencing date. Hover to see the exact hours and the total charge for that week.
AI Insights
The AI Insights card provides an AI-generated summary of what needs attention across your practice. Bullet points highlight overdue tasks, approaching deadlines, and notable changes.
AI Insights must be enabled in Settings before the card displays content. The card recommends at least seven days of usage data before turning the feature on.
Click the refresh button in the card header to request a new summary. A Cached label appears when the digest was generated earlier and has not yet been refreshed.
Alerts
The Alerts card lists items that need your attention, grouped into categories:
- Finance — overdue invoices and unbilled time
- Tasks & Deadlines — overdue tasks and upcoming deadlines
- HMRC — overdue HMRC obligations
- Clients — stale client records
Each alert is colour-coded by severity and links directly to the relevant record. When there are no alerts, the card displays an "Everything looks good" message.
My Tasks
The My Tasks card shows your open tasks sorted by urgency. Overdue tasks appear first, followed by those due soonest. The table displays the task name, client, due date, status, and priority. Click any row to open the task detail page, or click View all to go to the full task list.
Due dates within three days appear in amber. Overdue dates appear in red so you can spot urgent work at a glance.
My Time
The My Time card summarises your time tracking for the current week. Two headline figures show time logged Today and This Week, with a small bar chart breaking down each day. The billable charge for the week is shown below the chart. Click Log Time to go to the time records page.
Upcoming Deadlines
The Upcoming Deadlines card lists tax periods and processes due within the next 30 days. Each item shows the client name, due date, and a badge indicating whether it is a Tax Period or a Process. Click any item to navigate to the relevant record, or click View all to see the full list.
Quick Actions
The Quick Actions card provides four shortcut buttons for common tasks:
- Create Invoice
- Log Time
- Upload Document
- Start Process
Each button navigates directly to the relevant page so you can begin working immediately.
Layout
On large screens the dashboard uses a three-column grid. Charts and wider cards such as Revenue Over Time, My Tasks, and Upcoming Deadlines span two columns, while smaller cards like AI Insights, Alerts, My Time, and Quick Actions each occupy one column. On smaller screens the layout collapses to a single column so every card remains readable.
