Overview
You can upload any file type up to 25 MB per file. During upload you assign the document to a client, choose a filing section and category, and optionally link it to a folder, tax period, and date. The upload dialog is available from the Documents page header and from individual client document tabs.
Opening the Upload Dialog
- 1Navigate to the Documents page or open a client's Documents tab.
- 2Click the Upload Document button in the page header, or press N.
Completing the Upload Form

Click the dashed drop zone to select a file from your computer. The zone displays the file name and size once selected.

If you opened the dialog from the main Documents page (not from a specific client), select a Client from the dropdown. This field is required.

Choose the Section and Category for the document:
- Section (required) — a numbered filing section such as 01. General Correspondence, 03. Bank Statements, or 10. Final Accounts. Defaults to 01. General Correspondence.
- Category — Draft, Received, Sent, Approved, or Final. Defaults to Draft.
- 4If the selected client has folders, an optional Folder dropdown appears. Choose a folder to file the document into.

Optionally set a Tax Period and Document Date:
- Tax Period — select an existing period from the dropdown, or click the + button to create a new one inline by entering a label (e.g. "2025/26").
- Document Date — pick a date to record when the document was originally dated.
- 6Optionally add a Description in the text area.
- 7Click Upload to submit the form, or press ⌘+↵.
The maximum file size is 25 MB. If you attempt to upload a larger file, the upload will be rejected.
