Overview
Cloudclerk integrates with WhatsApp Business so you can send messages to clients and view conversation history without leaving the platform. WhatsApp messaging is managed from individual client pages rather than a central inbox.
Before You Start
Your organisation must have a WhatsApp Business account connected. If you navigate to WhatsApp in the sidebar and see a Connect WhatsApp Business prompt, you need to set up the connection first.
- 1Click Go to WhatsApp Settings on the connection prompt, or navigate to Settings → WhatsApp under Channels
- 2Follow the setup instructions to connect your WhatsApp Business account

Sending a Message
WhatsApp conversations are accessed from individual client records.
- 1Open a client from the client list
- 2Navigate to the client's messaging or WhatsApp section
- 3Select the contact you want to message — they must have a phone number on their contact record
- 4Type your message and send it
Outbound messages are processed in the background. There may be a brief delay before the message appears as delivered.
Viewing Message History
When you open a WhatsApp conversation on a client page, the full message history loads with the most recent messages shown first. Both inbound messages from the client and outbound messages sent by staff are displayed in the thread. Each message shows:
- The message content
- Whether it was inbound or outbound
- The delivery status (sent, delivered, read, or failed)
- The timestamp
The WhatsApp Page
The WhatsApp entry in the sidebar serves as a status page. Once connected, it confirms the account name or phone number and directs you to individual client pages for messaging.
