Overview
Processes are created from templates that define a sequence of stages. When you create a process, you choose a template, link it to a client, and optionally set a start date and custom name. The system generates the stages automatically from the template.
Creating a Process
- 1
Navigate to Processes in the sidebar and click New Process in the top right (or press N). The New Process dialog opens.
- 2
Select a Template from the dropdown. Only active (non-archived) templates appear. If you do not see the template you need, ask an administrator to create one in process template settings.
- 3
Select a Client using the client search box. Start typing to filter by name.
- 4
Set the Start Date. This defaults to today. Stage due dates are calculated relative to this date.
- 5
Optionally enter a Name Override. Leave this blank to use the template name as the process name.
- 6
Click Create Process. You are taken directly to the new process detail page.
You can also create a process from a client's detail page. Open the client, go to the Processes tab, and click New Process. The client field is pre-filled for you.
What Happens After Creation
The process is created with a status of Not Started. Its stages are generated from the template, each with a status of Pending. Stage assignees are resolved from the client's manager assignments if the template stage uses a role-based assignment.
