Overview
Calendar events are custom entries you create for meetings, reminders, deadlines, or anything else that does not fit into a task or invoice. You can create events by clicking or dragging on the calendar grid, or by using the New Event button in the header.
Creating an Event with the Button
- 1
Click the New Event button in the top-right corner of the calendar, or press N.
- 2
In the New Event dialog, enter the Event title (required).
- 3
Toggle All day on if the event has no specific start and end time.
- 4
Set the Start and End date and time. For timed events, use the duration pills to quickly set a length:
- 15 min
- 30 min
- 1 hr
- 2 hr
- 5
Optionally select a Category from the dropdown to colour-code the event.
- 6
Optionally add a Description.
- 7
Click Create or press ⌘+↵ to save the event.
Creating an Event by Clicking the Grid
Click on an empty area of the calendar grid. In month view this opens the New Event dialog with the clicked date pre-filled. In week and day views the start time is set to the clicked time slot, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes.
Creating an Event by Dragging
In week and day views, click and drag vertically across time slots. A dashed phantom block appears as you drag, showing the time range you are selecting. When you release, the New Event dialog opens with both the start and end times pre-filled.
In month view you can drag across multiple day cells to create a multi-day event. The selected range highlights as you drag.
The phantom preview remains visible while the dialog is open, so you can confirm the time range before saving.
Editing an Event
- 1
Click the event pill on the calendar to open the detail panel on the right.
- 2
Click the pencil icon in the panel header to switch to edit mode.
- 3
Update any fields and click Save or press ⌘+↵.
Deleting an Event
Click the event to open the detail panel, then click the red bin icon. The event is removed immediately.
Rescheduling by Drag and Drop
In month view you can drag an existing event pill to a different day cell to reschedule it. In week and day views, drop an item onto a time slot to move it to that time.
Tax periods and signing requests cannot be rescheduled by dragging. Only tasks, events, document requests, and invoices support drag-and-drop rescheduling.
